EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: SUMMER NEXT GEN 2025 RUNNER-UP HABBIT4T

Welcome to our exclusive interview with HABBIT4T (Fares Habb), the Demo Category Runner-Up of the Intellerzone International Music Competition Summer Next Gen 2025. An award-winning classical pianist turned electronic music producer, Fares blends cinematic melodies with heavy bass to create a unique soundscape. From reaching 120,000 streams on SoundCloud to his creative ‘flow state,’ join us as we explore the journey of a musician who bridges the gap between orchestral elegance and electronic intensity.

Can you introduce yourself and tell us what you do?

“Hello, my name is Fares Habb. I am an award-winning classical pianist and film composer, turned music producer and sound designer. My artist project is called HABBIT4T, blending electronic synths and basses with cinematic melodies and harmonic progressions.”

How did your journey in this field begin?

“My journey in production began about a decade ago when I started using logic pro x to record instruments. Throughout college, music production transformed into a tool I could use to create my film scores and compositions. In this time period I learned how to mix and properly use plugins. A few years ago I decided to jump into sound designing from scratch using softwares like Vital, Serum, and now Serum 2. I’ve been making melodic bass music ever since.”

How would you describe your creative process?

“Unless it’s a collaborative recording session, I tend to isolate myself in order to best express my emotions through my music. All music producers know about the “flow state”, where you are deeply engaged, highly productive, and at one with the music. In addition to isolation, freedom comes to mind. As music producers, we love the idea of a blank canvas we can fill, and the exploration of sound throughout the journey.”

Who or what has influenced your work the most?

“For the HABBIT4T project, the most vibrant influences are the artists I love and listen to the most – Ganja White Night, CloZee, and Mersiv are some of my favorite current artists. However, my earlier influences come from the 2010s EDM era, with artists like Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, and Skrillex being significant figures in opening my ears to Electronic Music.”

What are the biggest challenges you’ve faced so far?

“Luckily, since the HABBIT4T project is still fairly new, there are some challenges that I haven’t crossed just yet, branding and marketing being one of them. I am not a huge fan of social media and the whole influencer marketing campaigns, so marketing my work will take strategizing different ways of spreading my sound and my message.”

How do you stay motivated during difficult times?

“As someone who is usually highly motivated, if I have days where I feel less motivated, instead of ignoring or trying to work around those feelings, I accept them and dedicate my day to something other than producing music, whether it is working on other music projects or taking time off, I believe real life experiences inspire and motivate us to come back to work even stronger.”

What has been your proudest moment so far?

“My proudest moment with the HABBIT4T project has been reaching over 120,000 streams on Soundcloud – the only platform one can stream HABBIT4T tracks for now – and doing so without a cent spent in digital marketing or playlisting.”

Is collaboration important in your work? If yes, how?

“Absolutely. Collaboration is the only way to grow and improve once one has hit their ceiling. The moment we feel done with a project, or hit a ceiling such as a creative block, a collaborator can be the driving force that allows the project to keep growing and developing.”

What tools or platforms do you rely on the most?

“Instagram for news, workshops, and events. Youtube shorts for help with sound design and technicalities (Logic Pro X, Serum, etc.)”

What are you currently working on?

“Currently I am working on some originals and more remixes, along with developing my visual identity. My goal is to have the first official HABBIT4T single out on all platforms by the fall of 2025.”

What’s something surprising or little-known about your profession?

“I am a full time pianist, classically trained, that makes dubstep music on the side!”I am a full time pianist, classically trained, that makes dubstep music on the side!”

Any last words or message you’d like to share with our readers?

“Thank you for listening to my music, it means the world to me. Stay tuned for new HABBIT4T in the near future!”
